About the Speaker

Sharon Lloyd (Ph.D., Harvard) is Professor of Philosophy, Law and Political Science at University of Southern California.

She is a preeminent scholar in political philosophy and is highly regarded for her excellent scholarship on the work of philosopher Thomas Hobbes.

A co-editor of Pacific Philosophical Quarterly and editorial associate of Law and Philosophy, Professor Lloyd is the author of Ideals and Interests in Hobbes’s Leviathan (Cambridge University Press, 1992) and the forthcoming Cases in the Law of Nature: The Moral Philosophy of Thomas Hobbes.
