About the Speaker

David Weinstein is Associate Professor of Political Science at Wake Forest University and a Spring 2007 Center for Ethics and Public Affairs Faculty Fellow. Professor Weinstein’s publications include New Liberalism: Reconciling Liberty and Community (as contributing co-editor, Cambridge University Press, 2001), Equal Freedom and Utility: Herbert Spencer’s Liberal Utilitarianism (Cambridge University Press, 1998), and Utilitarianism and the New Liberalism (Cambridge University Press, 2007). He has also published several articles in journals such as Utilitas, Journal of the History of Ideas, and History of Political Thought.
