About the Speaker
Jerry Gaus is the James E. Rogers Professor of Philosophy at the University of Arizona. From 1997-2002 he was co-editor of The Australasian Journal of Philosophy (Oxford) and is presently co-editor of Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (Sage). Among his books are Contemporary Theories of Liberalism: Public Reason as a Post-Enlightenment Project (Sage, 2003), Political Concepts and Political Theories (Westview, 2000), Social Philosophy (M.E. Sharpe, 1999), Justificatory Liberalism (Oxford, 1996), and Value and Justification (Cambridge, 1990). Along with Chandran Kukathas, he edited The Handbook of Political Theory (Sage, 2004). Currently he is writing a book entitled, The Order of Public Reason to be published by Cambridge.
