About the Speaker
David Brink is Professor of Philosophy at the University of California, San Diego, a Director of the Institute for Law and Philosophy at the University of San Diego School of Law, and an editor of the journal Legal Theory. His research interests are in ethical theory, history of ethics, and jurisprudence.
Professor Brink’s publications include Perfectionism and the Common Good: Themes in the Philosophy of T.H. Green (Oxford: Clarendon Press, 2003), T.H. Green’s Prolegomena to Ethics (as editor , Clarendon Press, 2003), Moral Realism and the Foundations of Ethics (Cambridge University Press, 1989), as well as many scholarly articles in journals such as Philosophical Review, Philosophy and Public Affairs, and Ethics. He has held fellowships with the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences (1990-91), the University of California Presidential Committee in the Humanities (1997-98), and the National Endowment for the Humanities (2002-03).
