About the Speaker
Peter Stone, a 2010-2011 Center for Ethics and Public Affairs Faculty Fellow, taught Political Science at Stanford University for the past seven years. In 2011, he will be taking up a position as Ussher Lecturer in Political Science at Trinity College Dublin. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Rochester in 2000. He works in contemporary political theory with particular interest in theories of justice, democratic theory, rational choice theory, and the philosophy of social science. His book, The Luck of the Draw: On Lotteries and Decision-Making, is forthcoming from Oxford University Press in 2011. His other recent publications include “Lotteries, Justice, and Probability,” Journal of Theoretical Politics 2009, and “The Logic of Random Selection,” Political Theory 2009.
