About the Speaker

Professor of Philosophy at the University of Notre Dame, Paul Weithman’s research focuses on contemporary political philosophy, ethics, and medieval political philosophy. He is the author of Why Political Liberalism: On John Rawls’s Political Turn (forthcoming from Oxford University Press in 2010) and Religion and the Obligations of Citizenship (Cambridge University Press, 2002). In addition, Professor Weithman is the editor of Religion and Contemporary Liberalism (University of Notre Dame Press, 1997) and Liberal Faith: Essays in Honor of Philip Quinn (University of Notre Dame Press, 2008.).
