About the Speaker

Dana Villa is Packey Dee Professor of Political Theory at the University of Notre Dame and 2011-2012 Center for Ethics and Public Affairs faculty fellow. He is the author of four books: Public Freedom (Princeton University Press, 2008), Socratic Citizenship (Princeton University Press, 2001), Politics, Philosophy, Terror (Princeton University Press, 1999), and Arendt and Heidegger: the Fate of the Political (Princeton University Press, 1995). Professor Villa is also the editor of The Cambridge Companion to Hannah Arendt (Cambridge University Press, 2000) and the co-editor of Liberal Modernism and Democratic Individuality (Princeton University Press, 1996).
