About the Speaker
Jonathan Riley is Professor of Philosophy at Tulane University and a faculty member of the Murphy Institute. His books include Liberal Utilitarianism: Social Choice Theory and J.S. Mill’s Philosophy (Cambridge University Press, 1988), J.S. Mill: On Liberty (Routledge, 1998), and Mill’s Radical Liberalism: An Essay in Retrieval (Routledge, 2007). He is also the editor of J. S. Mill’s Principles of Political Economy (Oxford University Press, 1994) and the co-editor of Constitutional Culture and Democratic Rule (Cambridge University Press, 2001).
