About the Speaker

Stephen Perry is the John J. O’Brien Professor of Law and Professor of Philosophy and serves as the Director of the Institute of Law and Philosophy at the University of Pennsylvania. He specializes in political and legal philosophy and focuses specifically on the nature of legal authority and obligation, justice in corrective tort law, the morality of risk imposition, and the relationship between legal and moral responsibility. His articles have appeared in leading journals including Philosophy and Public Affairs, the Yale Law Journal, and Oxford Studies in Philosophy and Law. Professor Perry earned his D.Phil. from Oxford in 1988.
