Carla Bagnoli is a Professor of Philosophy at the University of Modena & Reggio Emilia. Professor Bagnoli's research interests are in Kantian ethics, moral epistemology, action theory, and moral psychology. Her current work is on the normative model of rational agency designed to deal with complex phenomena such as perplexity and conflicts among sources of normative authority, starting from considerations about interconnected, limited, and embodied practical subjects.

Professor Bagnoli's book, Ethical Constructivism (2022), was published by Cambridge University Press. She has also published in top-rated journals such as the Journal of PhilosophySynthese, and Ratio Juris.

The Murphy Institute

Established in memory of Charles H. Murphy, Sr. (1870-1954), and inspired by the vision of Charles H. Murphy, Jr. (1920-2002), The Murphy Institute exists to help Tulane faculty and students understand economic, moral, and political problems we all face and think about. More important, it exists to help us understand how these problems have come to be so closely interconnected.
