Devin Stauffer is a Professor of Philosophy ar at the University of Texas. He specializes in classical and early modern political philosophy. Professor Stauffer has published several books, including Plato's Introduction to the Question of Justice (SUNY, 2001), The Unity of Plato's Gorgias (Cambridge, 2006), and Hobbes's Kingdom of Light (Chicago, 2018).

His articles have appeared in top-rated journals, including the Review of Politics, the Journal of Politics, and the American Political Science Review.

The Murphy Institute

Established in memory of Charles H. Murphy, Sr. (1870-1954), and inspired by the vision of Charles H. Murphy, Jr. (1920-2002), The Murphy Institute exists to help Tulane faculty and students understand economic, moral, and political problems we all face and think about. More important, it exists to help us understand how these problems have come to be so closely interconnected.
