Ralph Wedgwood is Professor of Philosophy at University of Southern California. Professor Wedgwood’s primary areas of interest are ethics and epistemology. He is the author of The Value of Rationality (Oxford UP, 2017) and The Nature of Normativity (Oxford UP, 2007). Professor Wedgwood has published over fifty scholarly articles in venues such as Philosophical Review, Philosophy and Phenomenological Research, Synthese, Nous, and Oxford Studies in Metaethics. He received his Ph.D. from Cornell University in 1994.

Established in memory of Charles H. Murphy, Sr. (1870-1954), and inspired by the vision of Charles H. Murphy, Jr. (1920-2002), The Murphy Institute exists to help Tulane faculty and students understand economic, moral, and political problems we all face and think about. More important, it exists to help us understand how these problems have come to be so closely interconnected.
