Murphy Affiliated Faculty Mateusz Grochowski Receives Grant to Study Legal Challenges of Surveillance Pricing
Murphy Affiliated Faculty and Tulane Law School Professor Mateusz Grochowski has been awarded a prestigious grant to research emerging legal responses to surveillance pricing, the increasingly common practice of companies charging individual consumers varying prices based on their personal data and digital tracking.
As digital markets expand and algorithms increasingly dictate consumer costs, Professor Grochowski’s research will examine how modern consumer protection laws and regulations can adapt to address algorithmic price discrimination. The project also engages Tulane Law students in comparative research and digital market regulation. His broader scholarship in this area includes his forthcoming paper, “Algorithmic Price Fairness,” in the Vanderbilt Law Review.
