Murphy Institute’s Director of Education Policy Research Program Honored for Contributions to Public Policy
Doug Harris, Director of The Murphy Institute’s Education Policy Research Program and Center for Public Policy Research (CPPR) faculty member, has been selected to receive the Policy Field Distinguished Contribution Award from the Association for Public Policy Analysis & Management (APPAM). This prestigious award recognizes Harris for his significant and long-term contributions to the development of public policy analysis and management.
The award honors individuals whose research, influence on policymaking, or service to APPAM and the Journal of Policy Analysis and Management have substantially advanced the field over many years.
Harris will be formally recognized at APPAM’s 47th Annual Fall Research Conference, taking place on November 13-15 in Seattle.
Doug is also Director of the Education Research Alliance for New Orleans, Professor and Chair of the Department of Economics, the Schlieder Foundation Chair in Public Education, and Director of the National Center for Research on Education Access and Choice (REACH), all at Tulane University. Additionally, he is the Director of State of the Nation, a comprehensive and objective national progress report funded by The Murphy Institute.
