Travis Mulroy

Travis Mulroy received a B.A. in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College (Annapolis) in 2003 and an M.A. in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago in 2004.

He is currently a PhD graduate student in the Department of Philosophy, whose main research interest lies in ancient philosophy. He is writing his dissertation, “On the Difficulty of Beautiful Things” under the supervision of Professor Ronna Burger. His dissertation is an interpretation of Plato’s Hippias Major and focuses on the role of beauty and nobility in Platonic philosophy and, more specifically, the way in which the problematic character of beauty affects how and why humans live their lives.
