About The Speaker
Dan Haybron is Associate Professor of Philosophy at Saint Louis University. His primary research interests are in ethics, moral psychology, and political philosophy. More specifically, his work focuses on the psychology of happiness and well-being and the ways in which this can inform questions in ethics. He is the author of Happiness: A Very Short Introduction (Oxford University Press, 2013) and The Pursuit of Unhappiness: The Elusive Psychology of Well-Being (Oxford University Press, 2008) and has published numerous articles in a number of prestigious journals, such as American Philosophical Quarterly, Philosophy and Phenomenological Research, and Journal of Ethics and Social Philosophy. Professor Haybron received his Ph.D. from Rutgers University in 2001.
