Mary Elizabeth Glenn

Mary Elizabeth Glenn is a 2018-2020 postdoctoral fellow at the Education Research Alliance for New Orleans within the Murphy Institute and the Department of Economics at Tulane University. She received a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Tennessee in 2018. Her research focuses on choices that surround education with an emphasis on post-secondary education, and she has also worked on topics in taxation and health. She has examined how polio in mid-century America changed school enrollment behavior, how student loans taken out by parents end up impacting parental retirement behaviors, and how large-scale merit aid programs influenced take-up of student loans. Her current work explores the possibility the New Orleans school reforms affected the match and quality of colleges that students attend.
