CEPA Seminar: Robin Hahnel

Robin Hahnel is Professor Emeritus from the American University. He is best known as co-creator, along with Michael Albert, of a radical alternative to capitalism known as participatory economics. His more recent work is focused on economic justice and democracy, and the global financial and ecological crisis.

With Micheal Albert, he is the author of Quiet Revolution in Welfare Economics (Princeton UP 1990) and Political Economy of Participatory Economics (Princeton UP, 1991). His books also include The ABCs of Political Economy (Pluto Press, 2002, Updated edition, 2014), Economic Justice and Democracy (Routledge, 2005), Green Economics (Routledge, 2011), Of People, By the People: The Case for a Participatory Economy (AK Press, 2012), Alternatives to Capitalism: Proposals for a Democratic Economy (Verso Press, 2016), Income Distribution and Environmental Sustainability (Routledge, 2016),  and Radical Political Economy: Sraffa Versus Marx (Routledge, 2017). His latest book is Democratic Economic Planning (Routledge, 2021).
