Biography
Brandon R. Davis is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science and the Murphy Institute at Tulane University. He earned an M.S.W. from Alabama A&M University, and a M.A. in Gender and Race Studies and a Ph.D. in Political Science from The University of Alabama. Brandon is also a former postdoctoral research associate at Brown University.
His research focuses on American Politics, Law and Society, and Race and Ethnic Politics. Brandon is interested in normative and empirical approaches to institutions, representation, and criminal justice. In 2022, the National Science Foundation awarded funding for his proposal CAREER: We Dare Defend Our Rights: The Political Use of Law in the Enforcement of Voting Rights. NSF identifies these five-year, $500,000 integrated research and teaching awards as its most prestigious award for early-career scholars.
