Admission Eligibility
Students applying for entry into the master’s program should have—or be expecting—a bachelor’s degree from an institution recognized by the School of Liberal Arts Graduate School prior to the semester in which they plan to enroll in the program. Competitive applicants will have a GPA ≥ 3.1 or GRE ≥ 300.
Applicants with undergraduate majors in economics, political science, mathematics, engineering, or a closely related discipline will likely be prepared for the quantitative courses in the M.A. Courses in statistics, calculus, and linear algebra (or equivalent) are encouraged. Applicants with less statistics training may benefit from supplemental study before beginning the M.A. program.
Any well-qualified individual with a baccalaureate degree from a recognized college or university (or with equivalent education) may apply for admission to the program.
Applicants whose first language is not English should have a TOEFL score ≥ 90. However, the language testing requirement may be waived if the student has received a degree from an accredited U.S. institution.
Current Tulane undergraduate students may apply for the 4+1 MA degree. This allows students currently enrolled in a TULANE undergraduate program to gain graduate credits toward an MA degree while still enrolled as an undergraduate.
How to Apply
Visit the Graduate Admissions Application Portal and select Create an Account to start a new application. There is a $30 application fee due at the time the application is submitted.
The application deadline for Fall 2024 is April 1st, 2024.
