Biography

Norah Lovell joined The Murphy Institute as Department Administrator in April 2025. A longtime affiliate of Tulane, Norah served as Department Administrator for the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology before coming to Murphy. Prior to that, she was a Program Manager in Newcomb Tulane College and the Tulane Honors Program where she developed and implemented a faculty led College Scholars program for Undergraduates at Tulane. Outside of her work at The Murphy Institute, Norah is a visual artist, curator and educator whose practice includes installation, painting, collage and print on fabric and found objects. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and is in the permanent collection of the New Orleans Museum of Art. She also teaches an interdisciplinary humanities course at Tulane with faculty from Ecology & Evolutionary Biology on intersection of art, nature and environmental activism.
