Abraham Asfaw is a postdoctoral fellow at the Murphy Institute and Department of Economics at Tulane University. He received his Ph.D. in economics from Northern Illinois University in 2017. His research focuses on the intersection of health, labor, and development economics. His recent work examines the effects of prescription drug insurance on older patients’ health behaviors and the long-term, intergenerational effects of early exposure to health shocks. Currently, he is evaluating the moral hazard and cost-saving effects of cost sharing in prescription drug insurance.
