Emily Gamundi
Professor of Practice
Biography
Emily Gamundi is originally from New Orleans. After receiving her Ph.D. in Mathematics from Tulane University, she became part of the faculty of Trinity University in Washington D.C. as a Clare Boothe Luce Professor of Mathematics. While there, she nurtured a passion for teaching and guiding students. After starting a family, she made the decision to stay home with her children while they were young and continued her desire to inspire a love of learning through homeschooling her seven children. Upon returning to academia as part of the faculty at St. Joseph Seminary College, she discovered a renewed passion for sharing the beauty of mathematics with others, particularly those whose primary interests were in disciplines other than mathematics. She is thrilled to be part of the faculty at Tulane University teaching in both the Mathematics Department and in The Murphy Institute's Master of Political Economy with Data Analytics.
