Biography

Kathleen C. Weaver (Katie) is Assistant Director of the Center for Public Policy Research. She earned a B.A. in political science and English from Tulane University in 2013 and an M.A. in social and cultural analysis from New York University in 2015. Prior to joining the Murphy Institute, Katie worked in book publishing, serving as Assistant Editor in politics at Oxford University Press. She is also the former editor of The Bayou Brief, an online publication focused on Louisiana politics.

The Murphy Institute

Established in memory of Charles H. Murphy, Sr. (1870-1954), and inspired by the vision of Charles H. Murphy, Jr. (1920-2002), the Murphy Institute exists to help Tulane faculty and students understand economic, moral, and political problems we all face and think about. More important, it exists to help us understand how these problems have come to be so closely interconnected.
