Tengfei Yuan

Biography
Tengfei Yuan is a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Center for Public Policy Research and the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences. His research focuses on the biogeochemical cycling of pollutants (especially mercury, Hg) and nutrients under the influence of global change. By integrating Earth system and land surface models with observational data and measurements, Dr. Yuan employs an interdisciplinary approach that spans ecology, atmospheric science, biology, and environmental science to track how these elements move through the Earth system. His recent research includes a study led by Yanxu Zhang published in One Earth providing a more precise assessment of how wildfires impact global mercury emissions. Prior to joining Tulane, Dr. Yuan received his PhD from Nanjing University (2024), his MS from East China Normal University (2020), and his BS from Hunan Agricultural University (2016).
