About The Speaker

Sarah Buss is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Michigan. Professor Buss’s research lies at the intersection of metaphysics and ethics, and she is the co-editor of The Contours of Agency: Essays on Themes from Harry Frankfurt (MIT Press, 2001). Professor Buss has published over twenty articles on topics such as autonomy, weakness of will, practical rationality, and respect for persons, with her work appearing in numerous top journals, such as, Journal of Philosophy, Ethics, Mind, and Nous. Professor Buss studied at Yale University, earning a B.A. in 1981 and a Ph.D. in 1989.
