About The Speaker

Steven Wall is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Arizona. He is the author of Liberalism, Perfectionism, and Restraint (Cambridge University Press, 1998) and the editor of Perfectionism and Neutrality: Essays in Liberal Theory (with George Klosko, Rowman and Littlefield Press, 2003), Reasons for Action (with David Sobel, Cambridge University Press, 2011), and The Cambridge Companion to Liberalism (Cambridge University Press, 2015). His research expertise is in political philosophy, and, together with David Sobel and Peter Vallentyne, he is the editor of the series Oxford Studies in Political Philosophy. Professor Wall is also the author of dozens of articles which have appeared in highly influential academic journals such as Philosophical Quarterly, Ethics, and The Journal of Philosophy. He holds a D.Phil. in Politics from Oxford University, and in 2007-08 he served as a CEPA Faculty Fellow.
