Michael Hannon is Associate Professor of Philosophy at the University of Nottingham and a 2021-2022 Faculty Fellow at the Center for Ethics and Public Affairs. He works primarily in social and political epistemology.

Professor Hannon has published on topics such as the nature and value of knowledge, skepticism, fallibilism, expressive political discourse, political empathy, and the role of truth in politics, with his research appearing in leading journals including Philosophical Issues, Philosophical Studies, and Philosophy and Phenomenological Research. In 2019, Oxford University Press published Professor Hannon's first book, What's the Point of Knowledge?.  He co-edited two volumes on political epistemology, The Routledge Handbook of Political Epistemology (Routledge, 2021) and Political Epistemology (Oxford University Press, 2021), and is currently writing a book for Routledge titled "Political Epistemology: An Introduction.
