About The Speaker

Nathan Tarcov, is Professor of Social Thought and Political Science in the College at University of Chicago. He is also a Director of the Political Theory Workshop and the Leo Strauss Center. His scholarly interests include history of political theory, education and family in political theory, and principles of U.S. foreign policy. He is the author of numerous scholarly articles and several books, including Locke’s Education for Liberty (Chicago, 1989), Machiavelli’s Discourses on Livy (Chicago, 1996), and The Legacy of Rousseau (Chicago, 1996).
