Each semester The Murphy Institute sponsors a series of seminars organized by the Tulane Department of Economics that provides an opportunity for faculty, researchers, and practitioners to present their latest research and pressing issues related to topics in political economy. Research presented covers all aspects of contemporary economics and political science.

Julieta Caunedo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at Cornell University. She is also a research affiliate at CEPR; and invited researcher at J-PAL, Y-RISE, ATAI; and a theme leader for STEG. Her research interests include macroeconomics and development, with emphasis on the impact of technology for productivity and the labor market. Her work has been published in the American Economic Review, the Journal of Monetary Economics, and the European Economic Review.
