About the Speaker

Professor Jessica Erickson teaches and writes in the areas of corporate governance and securities regulation. Her scholarship has appeared in the Notre Dame Law Review, William and Mary Law Review, and Iowa Law Review, among other venues. Prior to joining the Richmond Law faculty in 2007, Professor Erickson practiced corporate and securities law at Hunton & Williams LLP, where her practice included securities class actions, derivative suits, internal investigations, and mergers and acquisitions.

Regulation Workshop: Leandra Lederman

About the Speaker

Professor Leandra Lederman is the William W. Oliver Professor of Tax Law and Director of the Tax Program at the Indiana University Maurer School of Law, where she teaches Federal Income Tax, Corporate Tax, Tax Procedure, and Tax Policy Colloquium. She is spending Fall 2015 as a visiting professor at the University of Chicago Law School.

Workshop on Regulation and Coordination: Usha Rodrigues

About the Speaker

Usha Rodrigues serves as the University of Georgia School of Law’s associate dean for faculty development. She joined the law school’s faculty in the fall of 2005 and was named the holder of the M.E. Kilpatrick Chair of Corporate Finance and Securities Law in 2014. Currently, she leads courses in contracts and business ethics, and business associations.

As associate dean, she will work closely with the law school’s faculty, especially its untenured professors, to expand and promote scholarly activities.

About the Speaker

Ann M. Lipton is an experienced securities and corporate litigator who has handled class actions involving some of the world’s largest companies.

She joined the Tulane Law faculty in 2015 after two years as a visiting assistant professor at Duke University School of Law, where she taught securities litigation and a seminar on the financial crisis. In 2016, she was named as Tulane’s first Michael Fleishman Professor in Business Law & Entrepreneurship.

About the Speaker

Professor Glater’s writing focuses on the role of law as both response to and source of barriers to higher education. His research interests include the impact of federal aid policy on access to college, the effects of education debt on student decision-making, and relationships between higher education finance and the functioning of financial markets.

Workshop on Regulation and Coordination: Andrew Tuch

About the Speaker

Professor Tuch teaches and writes in the areas of financial and securities regulation, corporate law and theory, broker-dealer regulation, and agency law. His work has explored how firm structure contributes to financial misconduct and financial instability. It has also examined the fiduciary, professional and other obligations of investment banks in a range of contexts, including in mergers and acquisitions. His scholarship has appeared in a variety of leading journals both in the United States and overseas.

About the Speaker

With more than fifteen years of experience in Tulane’s development office, Lou Franchina will present an overview of several private grant opportunities for faculty in the areas of policy and social sciences. This presentation is intended to be a mere introduction, and Lou welcomes the opportunity to meet with faculty individually to discuss their research areas and related funding needs.
