Biography
Amrita is a Ph.D. candidate at Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, Department of Social Behavioral and Population Sciences, and a 2020-2021 Fogarty Global Health Fellow for trauma research among children and people living with HIV in India.
Her research interests include examining the intersections of violence and substance use among vulnerable populations such as children and people living with HIV. She is interested in applying an intergenerational lens to examine trauma among the dyads of children and mothers vulnerable to violence in different contexts.
