Biography

Jonathan Way is Associate Professor in Philosophy at the University of Southampton and 2018-19 CEPA Faculty Fellow. Professor Way's research focuses on issues to do with reasons, rationality, value, and normativity, across both epistemic and practical domains. He co-edited Normativity: Epistemic and Practical (Oxford UP, 2018) and has published scholarly articles in many top philosophy journals, including EthicsMindAnalysis, and Philosophy and Phenomenological Research. During his time at the Murphy Institute, Professor Way will be working on a book project titled, 'Getting Things Right: On Fittingness, Reasons, and Value.' He received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2008.

The Murphy Institute

Established in memory of Charles H. Murphy, Sr. (1870-1954), and inspired by the vision of Charles H. Murphy, Jr. (1920-2002), The Murphy Institute exists to help Tulane faculty and students understand economic, moral, and political problems we all face and think about. More important, it exists to help us understand how these problems have come to be so closely interconnected.
