The Center for Ethics is thrilled to announce that our Fall 2025 Public Lecture will feature Dr. Carl Hart,  on Thursday, October 9, 2025. Dr. Hart is a renowned neuroscientist and professor of psychology at Columbia University, known for his groundbreaking research on drug policy and addiction.

Each semester, the Center for Ethics invites distinguished academics to present their current work at the Center for Ethics Public Lecture. Since 2001, the Center for Ethics has hosted more than 200 guest speakers. The Center for Ethics public lectures are free and open to all members of the Tulane community as well as the general public.

T.K. Coleman is Director of Entrepreneurial Education at the Foundation for Economic Freedom. T.K. creates workshops and curricula designed to teach the value of economic literacy and entrepreneurial thinking. He was recently featured in the Netflix documentary "Less is Now." His passion is helping young audiences elevate their aspirations and sense of agency to create and persevere in their individual journeys to live flourishing lives of meaning, achievement and happiness,

Jonathan Simon a Lance Robbins Professor of Criminal Justice Law at the University of California, Berkeley. His research concerns the role of crime and criminal justice in governing contemporary societies, risk and the law, and the history of the interdisciplinary study of law.

Serene J. Khader is the Jay Newman Chair in Philosophy of Culture at Brooklyn College and Professor of Philosophy and Women's and Gender Studies at the CUNY Graduate Center. Professor Khader's research interests are in the values that underlie feminist theory and political practice - especially on issues related to women in the global South.

Şerife Tekin is a Professor of Philosophy and Director of the Medical Humanities Program at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
