About the Speaker

Nicholas Almendares received his J.D. from the New York University School of Law in 2009 and his Ph.D. from NYU’s Department of Politics in 2014. Prior to coming to Tulane he clerked for the Honorable Janis Graham Jack in the Southern District of Texas.

Professor Almendares’ research interests include administrative law and political economy, focusing on the role of relatively undemocratic institutions such as bureaucratic agencies and the courts. In addition, he is currently writing on campaign finance and collective responsibility. His articles have appeared in both law reviews and political science journals, and he has presented at the Political Economy of Financial Regulation conference at the George Washington University Law School and the American Law and Economics Association Annual Meeting.
