Sadie Blanchard teaches and writes about contracts and international business law. Her research examines how legal institutions interact with social forces to shape behavior, especially in markets. Before coming to Notre Dame 2018, she was the Fellow in Private Law at Yale Law School, a research fellow at the Max Planck Institute on International Procedural Law in Luxembourg, and a law clerk to The Hon. Charles N. Brower of the Iran-United States Claims Tribunal, in his capacity as an independent arbitrator in foreign direct investment disputes.

Yaron Nili teaches courses in Corporate and Securities Law at the Univeristy of Wisconsin Law School. His scholarly interests include corporate law, securities law and corporate governance, with a particular focus on the role and function of the board of directors, shareholder activism, hedge funds and private equity.

Victoria Shannon Sahani is a tenured associate professor of law at Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law in Phoenix, Arizona. She is also a faculty fellow with the university's Lodestar Dispute Resolution Center and the Center for Law and Global Affairs. She is also an active member of the bar in New York and the District of Columbia.

Amanda Heitz is Assistant Professor of Finance at the Freeman School.  She received her PhD in finance from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. Her research focuses on credit markets, banking and financial intermediation, with a particular focus in international finance. She has a BS in finance, an MS in applied mathematics and an MS in statistics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Martin Edwards joined Tulane Law School in 2017 after practicing employment litigation at Phelps Dunbar LLP in Jackson, Mississippi. Before entering private practice, he served as a judicial law clerk to Judge Leslie Southwick of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and as a Special Assistant Attorney General in the office of the Mississippi Attorney General. 

About the Speaker

Quinn Curtis joined the faculty of UVA Law in 2011.  He teaches courses on corporate law, securities and venture capital. His research focuses on empirical law and finance.  He has written extensively on the regulation of mutual funds and retirement accounts, including empirical work on 401(k) plans, mutual fund governance and fee litigation.  His other research interests include corporate governance and corporate litigation.
