About the Speaker

Candelaria Garay is an Associate Professor of Public Policy at the Kennedy School of Government. Her research focuses on social policy, collective action, and party politics in Latin America. She received a Ph.D. and M.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and holds a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

About the Speaker

Omri Marian’s research and teaching interests include international taxation, comparative taxation, and taxation of financial instruments. He joined the College of Law faculty at University of Florida as an Assistant Professor of Law in 2012. Prior to this, he was in private practice at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York City.

Professor Marian received his LL.M. and S.J.D. from University of Michigan Law School in 2008 and 2009, respectively, after having received his LL.B. from Tel Aviv University in 2006.

About the Speaker

Professor Daniel Schwarcz’s research primarily focuses on consumer protection and regulation in property/casualty and health insurance markets. His articles have been published, or accepted for publication, in the University of Chicago Law Review, Virginia Law Review, Minnesota Law Review, North Carolina Law Review, William and Mary Law Review, and Tulane Law Review.

Workshop on Regulation and Coordination: Cristie Ford

About the Speaker

Cristie Ford teaches and writes in the fields of administrative law, securities and financial regulation, and regulation studies. Her research focuses primarily on regulatory theory as it relates to Canadian and international financial and securities regulation. Publications in the area have analyzed novel remedies in securities law enforcement, principles-based approaches to securities regulation, and prospects for “responsive” financial regulation.

Workshop on Regulation and Coordination: Odette Lienau

About the Speaker

Odette Lienau’s research and teaching interests include international economic law, international law and international relations, bankruptcy and debtor-creditor relations, and political and legal theory. Her scholarship seeks to understand the broader norms and principles that underpin international market rules and that impact expectations about appropriate behavior for businesses, governments, and other actors.
