W. Kip Viscusi is University Distinguished Professor of Law and Economics at Vanderbilt University. Professor Viscusi holds appointments in the law school, the department of economics, and the Owen Graduate School of Management. He has also held positions at Harvard University, Duke University, Northwestern University, and the University of Chicago.
The 2008 Yates Lecturer is Anne Krueger, professor of international economics at the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University, and formerly the Herald L. And Caroline L. Ritch Professor in Humanities and Sciences at Stanford University. Dr. Krueger is the former First Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund and she was the World Bank Chief Economist from 1982 to 1986.
The 2009 Yates Lecturer is James J. Sheehan, Dickason Professor in the Humanities at Stanford, Professor of History, and FSI Senior Fellow by Courtesy. He is an expert on the history of modern Europe. He has written widely on the history of Germany, including four books and many articles.
Glenn C. Loury is the Merton P. Stoltz Professor of the Social Sciences and Professor of Economics at Brown University. He has taught previously at Boston, Harvard and Northwestern Universities, and the University of Michigan. He holds a B.A. in Mathematics (Northwestern University) and a Ph.D. in Economics (MIT).

William G. Gale is the Arjay and Frances Miller Chair in Federal Economic Policy in the Economic Studies Program at the Brookings Institution. He is co-director of the Tax Policy Center, a joint venture of the Brookings Institution and the Urban Institute.
