Christie Hartley, Professor of Philosophy at Georgia State University, specializes in social and political philosophy, ethics, and feminist philosophy.  In her research on justice for persons with disabilities, she has argued that contractualism can be inclusive of persons with impairments.  In connection with this, Professor Harley has defended a view of justice as a kind of reciprocity in social cooperation.  With Lori Watson, she developed and defended a view of political liberalis

CEPA Seminar: Michael McKenna

Micheal McKenna is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Arizona. His research focuses primarily on free will and moral responsibility, as well as the broadly related fields of ethics, metaphysics, action theory, and moral psychology. He is the author of Conversation and Responsibility and co-author of Free Will: A Contemporary Introduction with Derk Pereboom.

CEPA Seminar: Robert Hartman

Robert Hartman is a 2020-2021 Visiting Research Professor and a Faculty Fellow at the Murphy Institute's Center for Ethics and Public Affairs.  Previously, he held postdoctoral research fellowships at Stockholm University, Sweden, with the philosophy department (January 2019-August 2020) and at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, with the Lund-Gothenburg Project (February 2017-December 2018). He earned his Ph.D. in 2016 from St. Louis University. 

CEPA Seminar: Shyam Nair

Shyam Nair is Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Arizona State University and a 2019-2020 Center for Ethics and Public Affairs Faculty Fellow. Professor Nair's research concerns issues at the intersection of ethics (especially normative ethics, practical reason, and metaethics), epistemology, and philosophical logic.  His publications appear in top tier journals, including Philosophical Studies, Mind, and Philosophy and Phenomenological Research.

CEPA Seminar: Benjamin Rossi

Benjamin Rossi is a 2019-2020 Center for Ethics and Public Affairs Faculty Fellow at the Murphy Insitute. He was previously a Visiting Assistant Professor at Miami University of Ohio. Professor Rossi specializes in ethics, with a particular focus on meta-normativity, and has additional interests in the philosophy of law, free will and moral responsibility, the ethics of blame, and political philosophy.
