Robert Pippin is the Evelyn Stefansson Nef Distinguished Service Professor of Social Thought, Philosophy, and in the College at the University of Chicago. He earned his Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University and specializes in modern German philosophy with a focus on the work of Kant and Hegel.
Steven Wall is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Arizona.
Jason Hanna is Associate Professor of Philosophy at Northern Illinois University and is one of the 2015-16 CEPA Faculty Fellows. Specializing in normative and applied ethics, his recent research has focused on examining deontological constraints on harming, and his current research project aims to provide a more-or-less unqualified defense of paternalistic intervention.
Marya Schechtman is Professor of Philosophy and a member of the Laboratory of Integrated Neuroscience at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her research focuses primarily on questions of personal identity and ethics.
Sarah McGrath is Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Princeton University. Focusing primarily on issues in ethics and metaphysics, her work has appeared in a number of prestigious academic journals, such as Philosophical Studies, Ethics, and Journal of Philosophy.
Dan Haybron is Associate Professor of Philosophy at Saint Louis University. His primary research interests are in ethics, moral psychology, and political philosophy. More specifically, his work focuses on the psychology of happiness and well-being and the ways in which this can inform questions in ethics.
Michael Sevel is Lecturer in Jurisprudence at Sydney Law School and a 2015-16 CEPA Faculty Fellow. He has a Ph.D. in philosophy (2010) and J.D. (2008) from the University of Texas at Austin, and researches issues in legal theory, moral philosophy, and the history of philosophy. He also has interests in torts and maritime law.
George Sher received his Ph.D. from Columbia University in 1972 and is currently the Herbert S. Autrey Professor of Philosophy at Rice University. His research focuses primarily on issues of responsibility and distributive justice.
Samuel Scheffler is University Professor of Philosophy at New York University.
Paul Hurley is Edward J. Sexton Professor of Philosophy at Claremont McKenna College and 2016-17 CEPA Faculty Fellow. His research focuses on issues in both ethics and metaethics, and his work has appeared in a number of highly regarded scholarly journals, including Ethics, Mind, Philosopher’s Imprint, and Philosophical Studies. He is the author of Beyond Consequentialism which was published by Oxford University Press in 2009.
